Another victim of horrific cruelty!
Can you explain why someone slashed me with a knife on my back and left me
I’ve battled the odds to be with you!
My personality: Confident, charming, resilient.
My story: When I was about six years old, I was found at a construction camp in amongst the rubbish and the dirt in a truly terrible condition. Soi Dog believe I had been poisoned because I was salivating, having seizures and could barely move. When I arrived at the shelter, the vets said my prognosis was poor, but they didn’t bank on my fighting spirit. Amazingly, I pulled through.
My health: Maybe you noticed already, but my head tilts to one side a little – a side effect of my ordeal. It isn’t anything to worry about, though. Just ask the adoptions team!
What makes me unique: The enormous infectious smile I wear almost all the time, showing the world how grateful I am for my second chance. I have a sunny disposition to match, and I warm quickly to everyone I meet.
What I need: An affectionate family who can give me lots of fuss and plenty of time to show my personality. I’m a medium-energy dog, meaning I’d be just as happy going for walks with you as I would be lounging by your side – the best of both worlds!
Why you should adopt me: From a poor poisoning victim on the very brink of death to a true survivor with a lust for life, I’ve come such a long way and battled the odds to be with you.
alone to die? I don’t understand what I did wrong, and don’t think I ever will. My name is Daran and I have been alone on the streets of Thailand my whole life. No one has ever cared about me.
It is a hard life for street animals like me. I have had to scavenge through bins just to find small pieces of rotten food to stay alive. Some people are very unhappy about street animals like me being around. I have always been friendly to them, but they are scared of me and shout at me to go away.
One day I found myself in danger. As I was searching for my next meal, I was brutally attacked. The pain was unbearable but I was so scared I fled the scene. Days later, a kind man saw me and noticed the large open wound on my back. It was already infested with maggots and infected. He contacted Soi Dog knowing I was in danger of succumbing to my injury.
The Soi Dog Foundation hospital was a place I was not used to being so I was obviously very scared, but also relieved as I knew they were trying to help me. I have since made a full recovery and am ready to find a home. The memories of my attack have left me a bit unsure, but the volunteers have worked on gaining my trust back. Once I get to know someone, I come out of my shell and enjoy going out for a walk.
I dream of a home I feel safe in and a family who will help me grow in confidence. Do you think you could help a dog like me? I would be forever grateful.
