Dog meat trade survivor and born entertainer!
Knock, knock. Who’s there? It’s Layan! That was a bad joke, I know. But the humans say I always have a cheeky look on my face like I’ve just told a really bad joke!
When you’ve been through as much as I have, you need a little laughter to get you through. You see, I'm one of thousands of dogs rescued from the horrific dog meat trade in Thailand. That was many years ago now, and I don’t like to dwell on it too much. Instead, I like to look ahead at all the good things that are to come, like the safety of a home, the love of a family and a bed I can call my own.
In the meantime, as well as providing some light entertainment at the shelter, I spend my days relaxing on the sala in my run, grazing on grass on my walks and enjoying cuddles from staff and volunteers. I truly believe you’re never too old for a good cuddle.
Although I’m a little on the older side, I walk well and have a great deal of energy and curiosity for the world around me. My head tilts to the left just a little because of an issue with my inner ear, but this has improved a lot and isn’t anything to worry about. Just ask the adoptions team!
Over the years, I have watched (from a slight angle) many dogs come and go. I really hope it’s my turn next. I even have some donations towards my travel costs, so please don’t forget about a sweet and funny boy like me.
