Easygoing, independent and taking life at my own pace
Is there any greater pleasure than lying on the soft grass in the sunshine and having your belly rubbed? If there is, I’m yet to experience it! My name is Pieno, and after many tough years on the streets, I’ve learnt to truly appreciate the little things in life.
No one is quite sure what happened to me before I came to Soi Dog in June 2018, but I was found skinny, dehydrated and too weak to stand. One of my hips was badly fractured and the other was dislocated. At the shelter, it took two surgeries and more physiotherapy sessions than I could count to get me moving again, but I got there eventually.
When you see me walking now, you’d never guess I’d been through all that trauma. I trot along so smoothly and confidently. I do stop here and there for affection, but once I’ve had a head scratch or two, I’m off again. Love is the fuel that keeps me going!
At the moment, I live in a run with lots of younger dogs who are a bit livelier than me. I tend to just watch them from a distance and do my own thing. While they rush over to visitors all at once, I wait my turn and patiently paw them to say hello instead. That’s just me: easygoing, independent and taking life at my own pace.
If these sound like the kind of qualities you have always dreamt of in a dog, then please click the orange button below. I’ll be waiting on my favourite patch of grass with my belly to the sky!
